The Teenage Brain Weekend is being presented by the Events Committee as part of Mental Health Awareness Week.

4.00pm : ‘This house believes that social media can be supportive of mental health’

Debate by the ‘Speak to Lead’ club. Each team will have pupils from different year groups, lively and provocative, drawing from real life experience.

4.45pm Refreshments

5.00pm The Haverstock Rap Club

Formed only last year and already taking part in festivals.  “Whatever I am feeling I can put down on paper. I’ve been writing about how my life can be tough, how it can be hard, but also if I’m feeling happy I can get that down on paper too. Writing a song can free your mind and create empty space.” A 13 year old song writer.

5.45pm ‘Body Image and Social Media’

an address by a young woman, still only in year 10, who has won awards for public speaking. ‘Body Image’ is the theme of this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week.

All ages are welcome. Teenagers and parents of teenagers particularly welcome.
No charge – donations to PHCA invited.
