The Primrose Hill Community Assocation is again running our popular Burns Night on Saturday 25th January 2025, and we are looking for musicians and performers to entertain our guests and evoke the spirit of Robert Burns. As this is a fundraiser for a community organisation we are not able to remunerate performers (apart from travel expenses and a free meal), but hope that the opportunity to regale our guests is reward enough.
We are looking for the following players : acoustic guitar, banjo, accordion, percussion, bagpipes as well as singers and Scottish country dancers. You can see some previous.performances here.
We invite potential players to send us a video or audio recording of their playing, and make themselves available for rehearsals in the weeks prior to the event with our musical director, Catherine Kelly
We are also looking for Scots to give The Immortal Memory and the Toasts to the Lads and the Lassies, as well as those who would like to recite some verse (Sassenachs included).
Please send your recommendations to Tim Kirkpatrick (timkp1@mac.com), and many thanks for your assistance and support.
If you would like to attend this popular event, please note that members will get early access to tickets. Membership is only £8 or £1, and you can become a member online here.
