Music-making, fun and games with links to the Government’s early years foundation stage (EYFS), on Tuesday afternoons (term time)
The classes will run as drop-in sessions (maximum 10 in a class – first come first served). Keeping the classes small will ensure that the children get the most out of their lessons. The children will play a wide variety of instruments, both pitched and percussion-based. There is an emphasis on music and movement, with action songs and dancing. Through songs and instrument play they will learn about tempo, dynamics, rhythm, beat and pitch, and also sharing, turn-taking and listening to others. We also explore the sounds of instruments from all over the world and listen to a variety of musical styles from across the globe.
These lessons support all areas of the EYFS curriculum and give the children an extra outlet to be creative and expressive, as well as building confidence and encouraging communication.
This term there will be 12 lessons with a one week break for me to take a short holiday.
The term will run in two six week blocks:
- Block 1: January 7th to February 11th (6 sessions)
- Block 2: February 18th to March 31st (6 sessions). The classes with run through the February half term, but there will be no lesson on March 3rd for me to take a holiday.
If you would like some more information about Music Classes with Helen, please don’t hesitate to email me at the address below. You can also check out my Facebook page.
Lessons are drop in style with a suggested donation of £3 a session.
All equipment and resources will be provided by myself, so please come along and enjoy some musical fun and games with your children. We would love to see you there.
