Qi Gong taster class with MayMay Knight
Qigong (pronounced ‘chee-gong’) is an ancient Chinese art which supports health and wellbeing. There are many aspects of qigong, including movements, breathing, massage, sound and meditation. Qigong can help to settle a busy mind, release tension in the breath and body, improve mobility, balance and strength, and invite a sense of calm and ease.
The philosophy underlying qigong reminds us that we are a part of the wider natural world and points the way towards harmony within ourselves and with all of life. The practices of qigong draw inspiration from nature, such as the cycles of the seasons, the balance of earth and sky, the grounded yet vibrant presence of trees, the flowing movements of water, and the generous stability of mountains.
In this class, we will try a few of these ways of connecting to nature through a variety of qigong practices.
